    COLOUR PIGMENTS

    Technical Information Sheet

Characteristics Pigments from earth colours, metallic oxides and mixed oxides. The Pigments can be mixed with each other and can be used in every type of decoration. Pigments 1301-1314 are alkalic-proof and can be used in silicate paints. Not recommended for use in varnishes and gloss paints.

Ingredients Earth colour pigments, oxide pigments and mixed oxide pigments.

Preliminary treatment Remove old lime coat. Remove or sand old varnish or gloss paints. Prime dusting or very absorbent surfaces with Binding Primer or Silicate Fixative (when using silicate paints). Leave new concrete and lime or lime-cement plasters to cure for at least 6 weeks.

Directions for use With opaque wall paints, stir thoroughly into the paint. For lighter finishes, leave the Pigment to soak in water for 12 hours (75 grams of Pigment in 100 ml of water) and stir regularly. For veil painting, stir the Pigments into Clear glaze 3110. Normally veil painting is done on a non-absorbent surface that has been painted white. Suitable for this purpose are BIOFA Wall Paints 3011 and 3031 and Silicate Paints 3051 (inside) and 1045 (outside).

    Please consult relevant data sheets.

Drying Make sure that the white base coat is fully dry before veil painting. In normal circumstances (20°C and 50-55% air moisture) and good ventilation this should be after approx. 24 hours.

Coverage Depends on the strength of the colour tone and the number of coats to be applied.

    Cleaning of
    implements

Clean immediately after use with water and soap or with Napona.

    Storage

Keep in a cool dry place and seal well.

Safety Precautions Keep out of reach of children.

Disposal Ask advice about quantities to prevent leftovers. Clean out containers and take to a recycling centre. Dried out leftovers can be disposed of with your household rubbish.
