24 tonne without offload For the largest loads, we can arrange
for outside hauliers to deliver anywhere in the UK. The largest will take 24 transport
crates, but cannot unload the material. The customer must arrange for a forklift
or similarly suitable equipment to remove the pallets.
Please make sure that there is sufficient space for the load to be stored on site
before ordering. |
General We do not
have regular delivery areas. We charge by the hour for a round trip including
offload time. If we can incorporate one part delivery with another, then we share
the delivery cost proportionately. Dependent on workload, we usually deliver within
a few days. Vehicle size Overall dimensions are: length 45' (13.5m),
height 13' (4m), width 8' (2.5m) plus mirrors. These are the exact measurements
and access gates etc. must have plenty of room to turn into the gates and have
several inches to spare either side.
Transport crates In order to ensure that dumpy bags of mortar stay upright,
we place them inside a wooden transport crate. We do not normally leave these
on site. If these are required for transport to another site or for storage, we
charge a refundable deposit. |

Crane lorry 12,500kg capacity
We can arrange for a crane lorry with outside hauliers to deliver anywhere in
the UK, but in practical terms is usually
from the midlands down. Please make sure that there is sufficient space for the
load to be stored on site before ordering. |

another, then we share the delivery cost proportionately. Dependent on
workload, we usually deliver within a day or two, in emergencies it is
sometimes possible to make a same day delivery but we would urge you to
try and plan in advance to avoid disappointment.
Vehicle size
Overall dimensions are: length 25' 6" (7.7m), height 12' (3.6m),
width 8'5" (2.56m) plus mirrors, or 16' (4.7m ) width with the legs
out if using the crane. These are the exact measurements and access gates
etc. must have plenty of room to turn into the gates and have several
inches to spare either side.
Crane capacity & reach
We can offload our 1000kg or 900kg bags by crane, but it cannot drop
these off the rear of the vehicle. Maximum reach from the side of the
vehicle is in the region 15ft. It is best to assume that the bags can
only be dropped immediately alongside the lorry. When offloading by crane,
it is essential for the support legs to be extended 4' (1.2m) either side
for safety and to prevent chassis twist. Please be sure that there is
sufficient space on site for these and that the ground is firm enough.

Palletised deliveries 250kg - 1,200kg capacity
We use palletised delivery companies to deliver throughout the UK and
beyond. | |
General These
vehicles do not have a crane for offload, the driver can only offload the pallets
with a tail lift if this is requested. Each pallet incurs a separate charge, but
some discounts may apply for multiple drops at the same time to the same site.
In some cases we can ask for a transit type van with about a tonne capacity to
deliver to very restricted sites. Consignments may be left at customers request
in a safe area off of public areas otherwise, the consignment will be returned
to the depot. The driver must be able to make the
delivery or a redelivery fee will be charged. Pallet capacities
Pallet prices are dependent
on a number of factors, we always offer the the most efficient and cost effective
method in each situation. The various options can be a little complicated, we
have tried to cover most here. Please contact the office for clarification if
required. Quarter pallet; This is
a next working day delivery and will take a gross weight of up to 250kg, ie. 10
x 25kg bags of NHL or 12 x 20kg bags of lime mortar. Half
pallet max size 1m x1.2m x 1.5m high; This can be a next
working day or an economy service (2-3 working days) and will take a gross weight
up to 500kg i.e 25 x 20kg bags lime mortar or 22 x 21kg tubs lime mortar or 17
x 27kg tubs lime putty. Full pallet max
size 1m x1.2m x 1.5m high;
This can be a next working day or an economy service (2-3 working days) and will
take a gross weight up to 1,000-1,200kg. Although in theory, it is possible to
transport up to 1,200kg, this is restricted to customer forklift offload and the
physical limits of the materials to be transported. For example, it is possible
to fit 45 x 10 litre tubs (i.e. 21kg lime mortar etc.) in total or 22 x 20 litre
tubs (i.e. 27kg lime putty) plus 5 x 25kg bags of Metastar or 48 x 25kg bags of
NHL. Wooden transport crate max
size 1m x1.2m x 1.5m high; Any
dumpy bag of lime from 500kg upwards needs to be transported in a crate to keep
it secure. Transport crates also need to be used for the small 20kg bags of lime
mortar for between 25 - 45 bags. Vehicle size 16 x tonne 9,000kg capacity
This is the standard lorry size that can be expected unless a similar vehicle
is specified. Overall dimensions are: length 32' (9.6m), height 12' (3.7m), width
8' (2.5m) plus mirrors. These are the exact measurements and access gates etc.
must have plenty of room to turn into the gates and have several inches to spare
either side. Vehicle size 7.5 tonne 2,500kg-3,000kg capacity If
access is limited, this size should be specified. Overall dimensions are: length
21' (6.3m), height 11' 6"(3.7m), width 8' (2.5m) plus mirrors. These are
the exact measurements and access gates etc. must have plenty of room to turn
into the gates and have several inches to spare either side. Fork
lift offload The pallets/transport crates can be offloaded from vehicles
by customers own fork lifts or similarly suitable equipment. Some hauliers will
carry a pallet up to 1,200kg for this system (i.e. 48 x 25kg bags on one pallet).
Tail
lift offload 1000kg gross capacity The pallets/transport crates can be
offloaded from vehicles by the driver. The driver can lower the pallet by a hydraulic
tail lift and take it off the tail
lift by a pump action pallet truck. Pallet trucks are moved by the driver without
aid of a motor, this means that some sites may not be suitable for this method.
The lorry must be able to get close to the drop site. The ground must be very
firm and level, so no grass, gravel, walls, steps, or other undulations can be
negotiated with a pallet truck. It is sometimes possible to overcome gravel drives
etc. by placing a strong board on the ground to actually get the pallet from the
tail lift only. Hand
offload Pallets may be offloaded from vehicles by customers own labour
if necessary and if the pallet can be broken down. The hauliers tend to prefer
to deliver by tail lift as it is usually quicker, also the driver is not required
to help customers break down pallets, so it is important to ensure that enough
fit labour is available if this
method is required. Dumpy bags of mortar/plaster are not suitable for hand offload. Transport
crates In order to ensure that dumpy bags of mortar stay upright, we place
them inside a wooden transport crate. We do not normally leave these on site.
If these are required for transport to another site or for storage, we charge
a refundable deposit. See
collapsible crates for further details. Back

Collapsible
Crates
In order to save customers money on the transport crates, we have a supply of
crates that can be flat packed and returned to us via the palletised system. Flat
packing and returning the crates to us can save money on transport costs if the
crates are not required. The most that can be stacked on one pallet footprint
is 7 crates. This can be confusing when on site, so see the image on the left
to see how to stack the crates for return.

Courier deliveries
We offer this service for deliveries of individual packages throughout
the UK and beyond. |
| General
Each consignment (delivery) can be made up of several packages. The maximum weight
of each package should be no more than about 25kg as they are carried by hand
by the driver. This service tends to be viable for consignment weights of 10-70kg
gross for most of the UK mainland. Consignments may be left at customers request
in a safe area, otherwise, the address will be carded and the consignment returned
to the depot. Vehicle size
The standard vehicle size is a transit van size.
Packaging
Almost all wet products and some others are packaged within a plastic tub for
safe transportation, this can leave spare space for other small items. Always
check inside the outer packaging for extra items. |
