    EXTERIOR SILICATE COLORIZERS

    Technical Information Sheet

    Characteristics Ready-to-use silicate mineral colours based on potassium waterglass to DIN 18363 / 2.4.1., with non- fading colours.

    Ingredients Water, potassium waterglass, chalk, titanium-dioxide, acrylic dispersion, cellulose, sodium phosphonate, polysaccharid, organic ammonium compound, fatty acid-polyether derivate, mineral pigments depending on colour (ferric oxide, ultramarine blue, cobalt blue, chrome oxide green, nickel-titanium yellow, titanium dioxide, umber).

    Application Suitable for tinting Silicate Paint, Silicate Undercoat, Interior Silicate Paint and for old and new unpainted lime plasters, lime-cement plasters, concrete, sand-lime bricks and similar mineral surfaces. Also for old but solid lime and silicate coats.

    Preliminary treatment Surface must be firm, clean and absorbent. Remove old dispersion, latex, oil and synthetic resin paint. Repair plaster cracks and other damages, and if necessary prime with Silicate Undercoat. Shuttering oil and lime sinter must be removed with the appropriate cleaners or sanded away.

    N.B. Drying time of surface before applying Silicate Paints:
    Concrete 30 days
    Plaster 10 days


    Directions for use Stir well. Apply two coats to new plaster. Pour the correct amount of colorizer in the white base and stir well. Thin first coat with 10% Silicate Fixative, second coat with 5%. Remove dried-out bits of paint from walls or cover of the bucket by pouring the paint through a sieve after thinning with Silicate Fixative. For directions for other surfaces, see over. Do not use in direct sunlight or below 5° C. Can be rolled, brushed or sprayed (airless).

    Drying Can be recoated after 24 hours.

    Coverage One litre will cover 8 - 9 mē, depending on the absorbency of the surface.

    Cleaning of
    implements

    Clean immediately after use with water and soap.

    Storage

    Keep in a cool, dry place, but protect against frost. Can be stored for at least 12 months. Temperatures should not be too high, as this may cause the paint to thicken.

    Safety Precautions Careful! Highly alkaline!
    Wash splashes on glass, clinker brick, stone, aluminium and wood away immediately with copious water.
    Do not flush away.
    Keep away from children.

    Disposal Ask advice about quantities to prevent leftovers. Clean containers and take to recycling centre. Leave leftover paint to dry and dispose of with household rubbish.
