    HARD VARNISH

    Technical Information Sheet

Characteristics Hard Varnish is made from natural raw materials and makes a colourless, hard but elastic finish which is hardwearing, dirt and water-repellent. Suitable for toys (EN 71 part 3) and sweat and saliva proof (DIN 53 160).

Ingredients Aliphatic hydrocarbons, colophony resin, castor oil, cobalt, zirconium, zinc and zinc octoate drier, citrus peel oil, microwax, clay, ethanol and silicic acid (for 2041).

Application Hard varnish is only suitable for interior use, especially cork and timber floors, as well as doors, presses, toys and wood panelling. Do not use in constantly wet surroundings.

Preliminary treatment Surface must be dry (max wood moisture: 14%), clean and free from grease. If necessary, clean with Thinner. Remove or sand old varnish. Prime new wood with diluted Hard varnish (20- 30%) or Universal Hard Oil. Sand first coat after 12-16 hours.

Directions for use Stir well and, if necessary, thin with Thinner. Apply thinly and evenly by brush, roller or spray gun (10-20% Thinner, nozzle 1-1.5 mm, pressure 3-4 bars).

Important: Make sure to ventilate well when working with the product and while it is drying!

Coverage Depends on the absorbency of the surface: 12-15 mē per litre.

    Cleaning of
    implements

    Clean immediately with Thinner.

    Storage

Keep in a cool dry place and seal well. Put remains in smaller containers and seal well to prevent skin.

Safety Precautions Flammable! Class A III. Danger of spontaneous combustion!

    Keep rags soaked in
Hard varnish in water or allow to dry out completely and then take for recycling. Keep away from children.

The raw materials used can cause a smell that is typical of the product.

Disposal Ask advice about quantities to prevent leftovers. Clean out containers and take to a recycling centre. Do not dispose of solvent-based products carelessly. Dried out leftovers can be disposed of with your household rubbish.
