| Characteristics | Universal
Priming Oil White penetrates deeply into the wood and keeps it new
and light looking for a long time. It makes an open pored, water resistant,
hardwearing finish which gives long term and natural protection. |
| Ingredients | Aliphatic hydrocarbons,
colophony resin, castor oil, safflor oil, cobalt, zirconium, zinc and
octoate drier, citrus peel oil, citrus peel oil, clay, aluminium silicate,
micro-wax, titanium dioxide. |
| Application |
For absorbent interior surfaces, especially cork and timber floors
and staircases, as well as presses and wood panelling especially for blond
wood (watch cross cut timber!). With other woods and veneers, make a trial
first. |
| Preliminary treatment | Surface
must be dry (max. wood moisture 14%), clean and free from grease. If necessary,
clean with Thinner. Remove all old paint or varnish. Clean tropical,
resinous wood and wood containing tannic acid with methylated spirit or
lye (oak). Sand furniture with 240 grade sandpaper, floors with 120 grade.
Do not use if floor temperature is below 16°C. |
| Directions for use | Stir
the Universal Priming Oil thoroughly before using. Apply thinly
and evenly by brush, roller, spray gun or squeegee. Treat timber and cork
floors once. After 20 to 30 minutes, spread, remove or polish or sand
any oil remaining on the surface. For this purpose, use a green or beige
pad for hardwood and a beige pad for softwood. The same pads may be used
for staircases, furniture and panelling, but one can also use wet sandpaper
240 or 320 here . Any oil remaining on the surface will make it difficult
for any subsequent coat to dry. After drying, wax with Hard Floor Wax,
Beeswax or Liquid Wax. Heavily used surfaces should be treated
with Universal Hard Oil or Floor Varnish. Technical spraying data: Compressed air: 1-1.5 mm nozzle, 2-2.5 bars spraying pressure Airless: 0.23-0.28 mm nozzle, 4 bars spraying pressure, 80 bars material pressure. Make a trial first! Important: Make sure to ventilate well when working with the product and while it is drying! |
| Drying | Dry
after 6-12 hours (20-23°C/ 50-55% relative air moisture) for sanding and
recoating. Sand and wax, or apply hard oil or varnish. May be used carefully
after three days. Fully hardened after 7-14 days. |
| Coverage | Depends on the
absorbency of the surface: 15 - 25 m² per litre. |
| Cleaning of implements |
Clean immediately
after use with Thinner.
Leave Thinner
to stand, decant clean liquid and use again. |
| Storage | Seal well and
keep in a cool dry place. Keep leftovers in smaller containers and close
well to prevent skin. If a skin has formed, remove before using again. |
| Safety precautions | Flammable
Class A III! Danger of spontaneous combustion! Keep rags soaked in Universal Priming Oil in water or allow to dry out completely. Keep away from children. The raw materials used can cause a smell that is typical of the product. |
| Disposal | Ask advice about
quantities to prevent leftovers. Clean containers and take to a recycling
centre. Do not dispose of solvent-based products carelessly. Dried-out
leftovers can be disposed of with your household rubbish. |
