Practical course in traditional lime repair work on heritage buildings

Since 1996 over 2,500 owners, builders and architects have come on our Practical Course to gain "hands-on" experience in using traditional lime and clay materials and techniques to repair and maintain old buildings. Our approach is to create a relaxed environment where you will enjoy learning, with ample opportunity for discussion in the breaks. Course numbers are limited to ensure individual attention by two course leaders.

For each session there is a practical demonstration, then participants are encouraged to have a go themselves, with guidance at hand. All tools and materials are provided but please bring protective clothing and wellington boots. Safety glasses & waterproof work gloves can be provided if required.

Be aware that much of this course is outdoors so please keep an eye on the weather forcast and bring appropriate clothing.

All tools are available for purchase at the end of the course and participants are also entitled to a 10% discount on future purchases from our range of traditional lime putty products.

A message from a satisfied customer;

Just a quick e-mail to thank you, Rick and your staff for the hospitality at the Lime Course that I attended on Friday. It was very educational, but more importantly entertaining. I go on several courses throughout the year and some can be very stuffy and over complicated with too much technical information, but this was nicely balanced for us in the business and also the homeowners. As someone who recommends the use of Lime mortars etc. on a day to day basis I will now be adding your name to my list of suppliers for lime products etc., which I trust is acceptable to you. Thanks again for an excellent day and the superb lunch, it was well worth waiting for!.
Kind regards
Paul Carter, Premier Heritage, Independent Building Preservation & Damp Surveyor, Sherborne, DORSET
