Hosting the Mythic Garden Summer Exhibition

Stone Lane Gardens, Chagford, hosts of the Mythic Garden Summer Exhibition. It has a national collection of wild-origin Birch and Alder trees in its 5 acre setting, with sculpture exhibitions set in the grounds. We're excited to be involved with a couple of community projects at Stone Lane Gardens. These are supported by the Dartmoor Sustainable Development Fund and the Ernest Cook Trust so the projects will be looking to source local materials and involve local craftspeople. The first was a project to lime plaster the inside of a Grade II Listed Barn, this was completed in December 2011 - more information about the project will be added to this page soon.

We plan to organise a workshop on earth plasters and create a simple earth mural with a local craftsperson. More info coming soon.

We'll be sculpting a large cob seat in the Mythic Garden with the help of local primary schools. We'll be building a base with stone from local quarries bedded in lime mortar. The aim is to recycle some of the sub-soil on the site for making the cob walls.
