| The pointing was applied according to our Practical Repair Guidesheet. The materials used were Lime Mortar 3.5/1 unhaired and were gauged with a pozzolan. Note how the mortar is applied so not to sit proud of the face of the stone. This is for aesthetics and practical reasons. This job required a slightly different colour to our standard off-white mortar, so a mix using our darker 'Heathfield' sand was employed. |

The render was applied according to our Practical Repair Guidesheet. The materials used were Lime Mortar 3.5/1 scat coat, and Lime Mortar Haired 3.5/1 scratch coat and a final Lime Mortar 3.5/1 unhaired float coat and sponged finish. All coats were gauged with a pozzolan. The limewash colour finish is a natural white.
This type of work can be undertaken with guidance by enthusiastic amateurs. We offer a Practical course in using lime in renovation and a DVD based on the course. We also provide advice over the telephone or by e-mail.
