    TEXTURED WALL FINISH

    Technical Information Sheet

Prepare the Textured Wall Finish as per the Technical Information Sheet - mixed with either Casein or Emulsion.

    Application:

Make up Textured Wall Finish with either Casein or Emulsion.

Using either a brush or trowel, apply the mixture to your surface 2mm thick.

The mixture can be coloured with Pigments or Colour Concentrate (depending on whether you mix Textured Wall Finish with Emulsion or Casein, the amount of colour to add varies, see Technical Sheet).

Once mixed, the Textured Wall Finish mixture must be used immediately.

Allow surface to dry for 12 hours between coats and before painting or Colourwashing.

Note: The finished surface is absorbent, before colourwashing we advise sealing the surface with Glaze Medium - one part Glaze Medium four parts water, see Technical Information Sheet. Apply Colourwash with a brush only, surface not suitable for a sponge.

    Instructions:

Textured Wall Finish can be applied as a Rough Finish or Smooth Finish

    1) Rough Finish

Using a brush or trowel apply your first coat thinly, approximately 2mm thick. Allow to dry for 12 hours. Apply a second coat by dabbing very small amounts of the textured wall finish randomly, smooth this second coat with your trowel, leaving small islands or patches for a rough, distressed finish. Paint or colourwash (see Special Effects Sheets).

    2) Smooth Finish

Using a trowel apply your first coat thinly, approximately 2mm thick. Allow to dry for 12 hours. Apply a second coat 2mm thick coat smoothing the mixture with your trowel to a very flat smooth finish, like applying plaster! Leave to dry for 12 hours and sand to obtain a flat, even surface. Paint or colourwash, (see Special Effects Sheets).

    3) Stippled Finish

Apply a thin coat of the Textured Wall Finish mixture with a brush. Take a dry stippling brush or large decorators brush and stipple with the tips of the brush to create a 'mottled effect.' Stipple in an ordered manner from left to right ensuring an even finish. Allow to dry for 12 hours. Paint or Colourwash as above using a brush only as the surface is too rough for a sponge.
