| Characteristics | Based
on natural raw materials, free from organic solvents. Provide a transparent,
silky matt, highly elastic finish which is dirt and water repellent and
allows the wood to breathe. Tested and approved for children's toys (European
and German standards). Adheres well to old varnish after thorough cleaning
and sanding. Available in redwood (5161), turquoise (5162), mahogany (5163),teak
(5164), walnut (5165), palissander (5166), pine (5168), maize (5169),
gentian blue (5171), moss green (5172), grey (5176), white (5177), light
oak (5178), dark oak (5179) and red (5180). The varnishes show their true
colour after drying. |
| Ingredients | Water, ricinine
stand oil, safflower stand oil, wood stand oil, Turkey red oil, diatomite,
borax, lactic acid casein, cobalt lineolate, polysaccharide (various colour
pigments). |
| Application |
Suitable for all interior hard and soft woods: windows, doors, wooden
ceilings, panelling, furniture and toys. Also suitable for rough timber
(greater absorbency causes stronger colours). White varnish can be used
to slow down or cover the darkening of light wood. Do not use in wet surroundings. |
| Preliminary treatment | Surface
must be dry (max. moisture: 18%), clean and free from grease. Clean and
sand any previous coat. Clean oak, tropical and resinous wood with methylated
spirit, otherwise, drying may be considerably slower. When varnishing
a new or unknown type of wood, make a trial first. |
| Directions for use | Stir
thoroughly before using. Apply thinly and evenly with a soft, flat brush,
with the grain. Finish large surfaces and boards in one session. Do not
use below 12°C or in very high humidity (over 70%), as this will delay
drying considerably. Clear and coloured varnishes can be mixed together
in any proportion. If required, varnish can be thinned with water. |
| Drying |
Touch dry after
3-5 hours. Sand and repaint after 24 hours (20-23°C, 50-55% relative
air moisture). |
| Coverage | Depends
on the absorbency of the surface. When applied to smooth, sanded wood,
1 litre will cover 10-13 m². |
| Cleaning of implements |
Clean
immediately after use with water and soap. For stubborn pigments or to
soften brushes, use Thinner. |
| Disposal | Ask advice about
quantities to prevent leftovers. Clean out containers and take to a recycling
centre or use again. |
