Description
Marmorino is an easy-to-use lime plaster for application on smooth interior surfaces. Use to create fascinating surfaces with the silk-shine lustre and deep transparency of polished stone or travertino textured stone effects.
Apply Marmorino in 2 layers, each layer approximately 1 mm thick. Due to this thicker application and the size of marble grains included, the appearance is different from Venetian-style polished plasters such as Stucco Fine and Stuccolustro.
A polishing plaster covering the complete surface of subtle uniform elegance.
Apply Marmorino with a smoothing trowel and burnish for the effect of polished natural stone or finish using various tools and sponges leaving a ‘travertino’ worn/textured effect.
The lime plaster has a natural fungicidal effect and is therefore also suitable for use in bathrooms but not in direct contact with water).
For walls and ceilings in the interior.
Suitable surfaces: untreated, even and absorbent plasters: lime plasters, lime cement plasters, cement plasters.
All other plasters, rough surfaces, dry walls and fibrous plaster boards to be primed with Casein Primer and to be entirely covered with Lime Wall Finish Fine prior to application of Marmorino.
Unsuitable substrates: glue paints and chalking lime coatings, oil paints, latex paints, plastic coatings, wood, wood-based materials, metal, all smooth non-absorbent surfaces and permanently damp substrates. Not suitable for floors.
COLOURS
Whist the images below are taken from actual polished plaster samples, they should only be treated as a guide to the achievable colour as we can not guarantee accuracy based on device settings.

- Powder – mix with water.
- Colour: White.
- Can tint with up to 10 % of lime resistant pigments.
- Open to diffusion.
- Natural white due to fine marble flour.
- No Titanium White.
- Water repellent after treatment with KREIDEZEIT Polishing Soap.

Colours
Tint with up to 10 % pigment.
Do not add more than 5% of pure Iron oxide pigment.
Stir pigments into the mixing water before mixing the render. Ensure all clots are stirred out properly. Clean the rim of the bucket with a trowel and pour the tinted render into a new, clean bucket to get rid of un-tinted residue.
Do not store Marmorino pigmented with ultramarine pigments for longer than 24 hours.
Full Declaration
Marble lime hydrate, marble flour, marble sands, cellulose, clay, methyl cellulose
Application temperature at least 8°C. Dampen dry substrates with clean water before application.
Marmorino is to be applied in 2 layers.
First prepare/prime the surface with Casein Primer (if necessary) and a 2 mm coat of Lime Wall Finish Fine.
1st Layer
Apply Marmorino with a trowel all over the surface evenly smooth or with slight structure. Apply Marmorino only slightly thicker than the grain size (approx. 1 mm). Let set until the surface has become strong against impact.
The 1st layer of Marmorino must not be polished or compressed.
2nd Layer
Apply Marmorino with a trowel again all over the surface and only slightly thicker than the grain size (approx. 1 mm). The right point of time for polishing Marmorino depends on the water content of the surface, its absorbency and the climate, and may vary strongly.
Soaping
When the surface has become strong against impact, apply Kreidezeit Polishing Soap thickly, regularly and allover the surface with a soft brush.
After a short setting time compress and polish with a trowel while taking off surplus material. Through this, a higher gloss and a water and dirt repellent surface is achieved. Chemically this process creates an insoluble lime-soap by the reaction of polishing soap with the lime in the surface.
Further Treatments
After at least 24 hours of drying time and to achieve a higher gloss, apply Kreidezeit Punic Wax thinly and polish with a Venetian Trowel.
Drying Times
Dry after approx. 24 hrs at 20°C and 65% relative humidity.
Suitable Tools
Suitable tools are Venetian trowels, Spring-steel trowels.
Cleaning the Tools
Immediately after use with water.
