GLASSCRETE^®

Glasscrete^® is a functional floor system using GEOCELL Foam Glass as the insulating base. Foam glass is a lightweight, breathable and sustainable loose lay aggregate made from 100% recycled glass.

Glasscrete^® is the improved version of the original Limecrete system. GEOCELL Foam Glass is capable of being used as a load bearing hardcore. It also has better insulation per thickness of sub-base (approximately 20% better thermal performance than clay aggregate).

LIMECRETE (THE ORIGINAL)

The original form of limecrete floor offers an option using an insulating clay aggregate (Techniclay) instead of foam glass.

Use coated Techniclay as an effective loose lay material below the slab to help prevent capillary action pulling moisture from the ground.
In addition, mix un-coated Techniclay with natural hydraulic lime for the lightweight slab rather than sand (which also improves thermal performance). 

Limecrete offers a number of advantages:

• Good vapour permeability, which is important in older properties.
• Can be designed to meet the insulation requirements of building regulations.
• Natural and environmentally friendly.

It is important to match the design of the limecrete floor to the needs of the building. Customers should consider factors such as the type of construction, floor area and ground water level.
