Description
Kreidezeit Wall Glaze Binder is a matt, transparent binding agent for wall glazes and can be coloured with a wide range of pigments.
Use Wall Glaze Binder internally as a transparent casein-based binder for wall lazures and brush and stencil techniques.
Suitable for application on all absorbent surfaces and plasters coatings. For example: Casein Marble Paint, Vega Wall Paint, Lime Paint, Lime Wall Finish, Brush and Roll-on Plaster.
White, reflective and slightly textured surfaces are ideal for achieving the typical appearance of wall lazure. Unsuitable substrates include non-absorbent surfaces, acrylic paints, plastic, metal and wood.
Tint with pigments if desired.
Properties
- Powder – mix with water.
- Easy to use.
- Matt finish.
- Diffusible.
- Wipe resistant.
Coverage
Depending on the application technique and the absorbency of the substrate, 100 g of Wall Glaze Binder covers approx. 50 m².
Application
Mixing
Mix the Binder are a small bucket and a kitchen mixer or a whisk.
Add 100 g of Wall Glaze Binder to 1 litre of cold water while stirring fast ensuring that all clots are stirred out.
After an expanding time of approx. 30 minutes, stir again thoroughly.
Diluting
Depending on the substrate and the desired effect of the wall-glaze, the binder can be further diluted with different amounts of water.
Dilute with:
- 2 -4 litres of water for visible strokes of the brush / traces of tools and for stencil techniques.
- 5 -6 litres of water for smooth glazes or on coarse-textured substrates.
- 7 -8 litres of water for multilayered lazures and to avoid accumulations of binder and glossy areas.
- At least 7 litres of water for transparent plaster solidification.
The amount of water can be increased according to the requirements of the substrate.
Tinting
Mix pigments with a little water to make a paste. Mix this paste in small portions into the diluted Binder until the colour has the desired intensity.
Note: The intensity of the colour can be checked quickly by painting the lazure on a white sheet of paper and drying with a hair dryer.
Application
Apply the Wall Glaze with a brush in a criss-cross pattern. Horizontal and vertical painting should be avoided. Always allow the paint contours to run out irregularly.
Apply the Wall Glaze on the same day as mixing. Do not use product that smells bad or rotten under any circumstances as there is a danger of prolonged odour problems even after drying!
Drying Times
A second layer of lazure can be applied after approx. 4 hrs at 20 ºC. The coating has dried thoroughly after 24 hrs.
